Really? Is it Almost Thanksgiving???

Yes, I've been off my blog-writing game lately.  I kept telling myself I'd try to keep up with posting weekly, but somehow life got in the way.  It does that sometimes I guess :)  Well, lots of life that has been happening since the beginning of October!

Starting from the most athletically challenging event of the month (meaning October), Matthew and I did a 5K!  We like to say that we "did" a 5K because technically that is 100% accurate.  I mean "technically" we walked it, but no one keeps track of that.  It was a Halloween-type of event and you could definitely feel the anticipation of Halloween looming in the air as mini goblins and Taylor Swifts and bumble bees kicked the day off with some sprints.  Matthew and I decided against wearing costumes (we thought we'd let someone else win), but we did walk away with a pretty awesome shirt that we may break out when we want people to think we take running seriously.

Matthew Peterson-Speederson taking on the New Hampton running scene like Brad Smith (roomie reference).

One of our more recent adventures (we just got back Monday night) was Key West!  My cousin, Melissa, and her long-time boyfriend, Mike got married on a beautiful beach in Key West.  Absolutely picturesque.
This is where the ceremony and reception took place--beautiful!!
After driving to Minneapolis for our flight, we landed in Miami (Will Smith was nowhere to be found) where we met up with the Tay Tay's who took the lead driving to Key West.  It was dark, so we didn't really check out the water we were surrounded by on both sides of the freeway.  But the air smelled tropical (as David would say) and that was enough for us.

It also just-so-happened to be Matthew's birthday on our travel day.  Not too bad spending the big 2-4 in Key West if I do say so myself.  We've decided that the traveling part of a trip can be just as fun as when you're at the destination.  Airports are filled with so many interesting people and yummy food (which is really all we need), and we've grown to love our 3-hour drives to airports.  Usually we crank up some music or a sermon and eat lots of fast food and gas station junk food.  The good life.

Anyhoo, the resort in Key West where the wedding was was stunning and we spent our time catching up with family, eating key lime pie (YUM), eating good food, and swimming.

Tropical-tastic

We were sad to leave Key West--we usually leave places like that asking ourselves why we don't just move someplace warm and teach surfing lessons.  Any ideas why that wouldn't be a good option?

Lastly, I would just like to point out my growing abilities/expertise in men's hair-cuttery.  Notice the difference between Matt's hair at the 5K and his hair in Key West.  Done by yours truly.  Also open for business in Michigan when I'm in town.  Philip M. has yet to let me give him a haircut, but he's into the barbershop which is just the Italian way I guess.

Another lastly--in case you were wondering, we ARE the people who start listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween.  If you've never checked out MercyMe's Christmas album I would highly recommend it.

Jingle bells,
The P's
